Payroll Specialist (Interim)

Interim Payroll Specialist | Knutsford | £200-£250 per day

Macmillan Davies is proud to be working on behalf of a leading technology organisation seeking an experienced Payroll Specialist to take ownership of end-to-end payroll delivery during an interim assignment.

Main duties include:

• Managing the end-to-end payroll process, ensuring accurate and timely delivery.
• Handling employee payroll queries with professionalism and discretion.
• Working closely with key stakeholders to gather information and meet deadlines.
• Identifying payroll risks and implementing corrective actions where required.
• Maintaining strong payroll controls and identifying opportunities to improve processes.
• Supporting payroll system changes, transitions and process improvements where necessary.
• Ensuring accurate documentation and a smooth handover at the end of the assignment.

The ideal candidate will have:

• Strong, recent hands-on payroll experience, ideally with end-to-end payroll ownership.
• A good understanding of payroll processes and relevant tax and legislative requirements.
• Experience using payroll systems and investigating data discrepancies.
• Excellent attention to detail and strong organisational skills.
• The ability to work independently, manage deadlines and proactively resolve issues.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to work with a range of stakeholders.
• Exceptional discretion when handling confidential employee and payroll information.
• A proactive approach to improving processes and strengthening payroll controls.
