OD Manager

Location: London

Job Description

In this exciting new role, you will manage the design and delivery of OD strategies and people-change initiatives in support of the organisation's strategic vision and operational plans. You will work collaboratively with the People and OD team to drive a programme of continuous organisational performance improvement, fundamentally playing a key part in driving business change.

Projects/initiatives will include:

- Contribute to the development and execution of the People Strategy to ensure that OD initiatives are integrated and aligned with strategic and business goals and are effectively prioritised in line with business needs and capacity.
- Work with the HR Partnering and Engagement team to ensure that all OD activity supports the overall vision of the People team
- Lead specific performance improvement initiatives through the implementation of competency frameworks and feedback processes
- Drive and support the transformation towards a constructive and customer-focused organisational culture, identifying barriers and coaching business leaders
- Develop the talent management and succession planning approach across the organisation
- Oversee the progress of people-related projects including line management of the People Project Manager

Context:

Central to the role of the OD Manager will be the ability to focus on maximising the value gained from the people.

The OD Manager will be required to review what the organisation wants and needs, analyse the gap between its current state and where it wants to be in future and design approaches that will bridge that gap. This is an important, wide reaching, future-focused role that will require a deep understanding of the organisation and its wider context in order to evaluate what works and what doesn't. The role holder will, therefore, be required to take a holistic view of everything from people practices, systems and structures to rewards, performance measures, policies, processes, culture and the wider working environment. The role holder must be an expert in change management to underpin the OD expertise.

The successful candidate will be able to plan effectively and report in a professional and timely manner, making sure the leadership is kept appropriately informed and engaged with the OD programme. However, the ability to engage at all levels across the organisation will be critical.
